Notes & Variations
-
Make-ahead: Brew and strain the golden milk base and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
-
Habit tip: Keep turmeric and ginger sliced in your freezer so you always have them ready.
-
Swap: Use maple syrup or honey instead of coconut sugar for sweetness.
-
Extra cozy: Heat instead of icing for a warm latte and stir in Daily Elements once warm, not boiling.
Dietitian Notes
For this recipe, we opted for fresh turmeric and ginger over powder to get higher concentrations of active compounds such as curcumin and gingerols, which are responsible for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Don’t skimp too much on fat in this recipe: the fat in milk supports the absorption of the bioactive compounds including the nutrients in Daily Elements microgreens to help your body get more benefits from this restorative drink.
